Art π€‘π
When it comes to art, the "expression of the soul" can be illustrated here.πͺ¬
Think of a painting hanging on a white wall in a gallery. Its value is determined solely by the lines, the colors, the concepts along with the artist bio, the curator network, the buyer’s tax strategy. We call that assemblage “art.” Street art outside the market, crafts in the village garden—they are given a separate shelf called “folk” or “craft.” Language itself builds a hierarchy.Meanwhile, as we scroll through a virtual gallery, we think of pleasure as a matter of personal preference. But the algorithm shows us something we’ve previously liked. The job of the critic is to extract the training data behind that personal taste—how did we learn what “beautiful” is, and who wrote that lesson?
To me, the ethics of art today are not in technique, but in the way space is divided. Who gets a studio, a residency, a 6-month review; who gets to work hours of overtime and mix colors on the weekend? If that gap disappears, the answer to the question of who art speaks to will be a single group.
So, as someone who is interested in art, I don't have to say that I love art. But art can really show us our cultural taste as a mirror ! πͺ
